PRAYER FOCUS: 

  • Health Concerns: Eugene Hernandez (Denbeigh's mother), Rena Romero (Virginia Livermore's step-sister), Suzie Ruiz (Danny Sierra's cousin), Thor Montgomery, Joan Lufkin, Jayne Baccus-Hurley, Neal Peisley (Kathy Grellman's father), Cliff Pope, Amanda Bailey, B.J. Behrens, Peggy Day, Laura Lee Williams. 
  • Bereavement: The family of Myrtle Malcolm (Ruby Hernandez' mother), who passed away recently. 

WELCOME, GUESTS! Please join us at our picnic at Barre Falls Dam Park. Directions are on the information post in the foyer. Members: please make sure to bring plenty of food. 
  • At noon we will sponsor a lunch for park cleanup volunteers—can anyone attending the 8:15 service help?
  • After the 11:00 service we will have our regular fellowship picnic at the park. There is a pavilion in case of inclement weather. 
  • Next Sabbath we resume our indoor fellowship dinners with an all-church haystack dinner. The church provides the rice, beans and chips, so bring plenty of your favorite toppings—lettuce, tomatoes, olives, salsa, etc.

  • Youth and Children's' Sabbath School Leaders, please come to a brainstorming brunch in the Fellowship Hall tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. Bring your hopes, needs, and ideas for building our children up in ministry. Food included. 
  • 360° is up and running and we are so happy to see kids really connecting on a personal level. Please continue to encourage our youth to join and fellowship as we continue to grow. 
  • Kids University: Our team has returned and we are excited. We will be offering a parent/mentor training class shortly, to encourage our families to connect and grow our kids in this church. Please keep this ministry in your prayers as we explore the best ways to expand it within our church family. 

ADVENTURER FUN DAY is tomorrow at The Children's Museum, 950 Trout Brook Drive, West Hartford, Connecticut, 10:00 a.m. Admission fee includes admission to the museum, planetarium and patch.
CANCER SUPPORT: This Monday at 5:00 p.m.

  • Meetings: Today at 1:15 p.m. in Primary 2. Little Lambs, Eager Beavers and Adventurers will separate into groups afterwards. All children age 4 to grade 4 are welcome. Registration forms are available on the round table in the foyer. When completed, please place them in the Adventurer box on the same table.

WOMENS' NIGHT OUT: 6:30 p.m. this Monday in the College Town Inn tea room. We will have a potluck dinner and fellowship. Directions will be available on the information post in the foyer. Please enter through the guest entrance on Old Common Rd.

RECALIBRATION: Due to Pastor Don (and Pastor Heather) overseeing the Fall Week of Prayer for AUC this week we will not be having our regular Recalibration meetings on Wednesday. You certainly are invited to join any of the AUC meetings through the week- M/W/F 10:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., T/Th 10:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m.

OVEREATERS ANONYMOUS offers a program of recovery from compulsive eating using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA. It addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. For more info, contact Maria at 978-779-6279.

  • Last Orientation Meeting: 7:00–8:30 p.m. this Thursday in the Chapel. Note: Attendance at an orientation is required for participation in AWOL (see below).
  • Overeaters Anonymous: A Way of Life: AWOL is a committed study of the twelve steps. You must have a sponsor to attend, and must maintain abstinence from overeating. Weekly closed meetings start Thursday, October 1.

JUST A REMINDER: We are going to be introducing two more creative worship events soon. Next Sabbath we start our weekly Responsa service at 8:15 a.m. On October 3 we will be inagurating our once-a-month service at 1:00 p.m. You may wish to include these in your ongoing planning.

    • The family of Joanne Hall (Eric's mother), who passed away last Sabbath. Her memorial service will be this afternoon at 3:00 in the Sanctuary.
    • The family of Liza Brown's grandmother, who passed away last Sabbath.
    • The family of Village Church member Gwendolyn Powell, who passed away last Sabbath. Her funeral service was Thursday.

TODAY'S PICNIC at Dunn State Park has been postponed until next Sabbath so that we can prepare for Joanne Hall's memorial service this afternoon at 3:00. 

YOU HAVE BEEN so generous, financially, in support of our building repairs. Now we ask for you to dedicate some time. Tomorrow morning (8:00 am) we're going to begin to address the "inside" issues for our tiniest members. We need many folks to assist in many skill levels as we scrape and paint in the Beginners' classroom.

FINANCE COMMITTEE: This Monday at 7:00 p.m.

CHURCH BOARD: This Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

JESUS continues to amaze us in our Wednesday Recalibration events (10:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m.) This week we'll see Him perform a miracle and then ask for others to imitate His act. You can read Matthew 9:27–33, 10:1, Mark 6:7–12 and Luke 9:1–6 to be ready for the discussion.

THE LIVING FREE SEMINAR shows you how bad habits and addictions develop. It gives you practical guidelines on how to overcome addictions, create a positive mental, spiritual and physical environment, and change your life for good! Thursdays and Sundays, 6:00–8:00 p.m. through Sept. 27, in the Fellowship Hall. . 

OVEREATERS ANONYMOUS offers a program of recovery from compulsive eating using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA. It addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. For more info, contact Maria at 978-779-6279.

EACH WEDNESDAY we keep drawing closer to Christ as we walk with Him through the gospels. This week (10 a.m. and 7 p.m.) we will observe Him interacting in two fascinating, parallel stories. You may want to read ahead—Mark chapter 5 will be our prime focus.

MUSIC MINISTRIES: An opportunity to receive and to be a blessing in music!

  • Musikgarten Choir/Playtime: Starts this Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Invite your neighbors, relatives and friends to join you for this fun time for pre-school children and their parents. A wonderful opportunity for community outreach. 
  • Women's Chorus: Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. starting this Wednesday.
  • Men's Chorus: Sundays at 6:30 p.m. starting Sept. 13.
