Key Announcements for Jan 3, 2009

PRAYER FOCUS

  • With health concerns we remember Charlotte Morrison (Pat's mother), Grace Weisher, Amanda Bailey (Ken Bailey's daughter), B.J. Behrens (Milton Montaque's brother-in-law), Ralph Dawkins' father Ralph, Peggy Day, Kim King, Laura Lee Williams. 
  • In bereavement we remember the family of Nell Steiner, who passed away last Sunday. She taught first grade at Browning for years, and her husband Stanley served as College Church pastor, SNEC Ministerial Secretary and SNEC president. It was during Elder Steiner's tenure as College Church pastor that we began the building program for our current church home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SNEC Nell Steiner Browning First Grade Endowment Fund. GAME NIGHT: Come one, come all to the church game night tonight at 6:00 in the Fellowship Hall. There will be food, games and fun. The Social Committee 

PRAYING FOR OUR CHILDREN: This Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel. 

SUPPERTIME FRIDAY: Pam & Bill Weisher host Suppertime Friday at their house in Princeton this Friday at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite dish to share.

PRAYER FOCUS

  • With health concerns we remember Grace Weisher, Amanda Bailey (Ken Bailey's daughter), B.J. Behrens (Milton Montaque's brother-in-law), Ralph Dawkins' father Ralph, Peggy Day, Kim King, Laura Lee Williams. 

  • In bereavement we remember the family of Dr. Samuele Bacchiocchi, who passed away early last Sunday morning. He taught at Andrews University and was well known for his studies on the Sabbath. 

  • Prayer afterglow meets with Elder Cameron Loss in the Junior Room after the 11:00 service for brief, focused prayer. 

  • From the Prayer Ministry Team: "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." I Thessalonians 5:16–18.

Year-end Donations, Online Giving

Just in time for year-end donations, you can now conveniently donate to the College Church online using your checking account or credit/debit card. Just go to our web site at <http://www.thecollegechurch.com> and click on Giving. 

To be credited to this tax year, donations must be in by Dec. 31—

  • by noon if bringing them to the office; 
  • by midnight if done online; 
    • Please Note: Adventist Giving bases the donation time on the time zone of the College Church, so if you are in California on Dec. 31, you must enter your online donation by 9:00 p.m. California time;
  • if mailed, they must be postmarked by midnight Dec. 31 and received by Jan. 7.

CLUB MEETINGS today at 1:15 p.m.: Little Lambs in the Primary 2 classroom, Eager Beavers in Kindergarten, and Adventurers in Primary 1.

COMMUNITY CAFÉ: We provide and serve food at the café tomorrow from 4:00–6:30 p.m. Please call Barbara King at 978-368-8419 if interested.

CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST: Bring your favorite breakfast breads, fruit, drinks, etc. to share at our annual Christmas breakfast next Sabbath at 9:00 in the fellowship hall. This takes the place of Sabbath School. See you there! Social Committee

THANKSGIVING BASKET WRAP-UP: Today promptly at 2:30 p.m. in the Junior Room. We will discuss this year's program—what worked well, what didn't—and how we can improve the ministry next year.  We want our projects to reflect God's true character and to bring honor and glory to His name.  There is a part for everyone who wants to get involved, young or old, handicapped or able-bodied, rich or poor.  Please come, we need your ideas and talents. We can dream much bigger when we work together and let Him lead our projects. What do you dream about doing for God? Come share. 

LIVE NATIVITY: Dr. Ray Sauls and his farm animals, including Fatima the camel, will be here on the side lawn today at 3:00 p.m. Invite family, friends, neighbors, etc. Come for the fellowship—and the hot chocolate!

WOMEN'S NIGHT OUT: This Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the College Town Inn (please use the guest entrance on Bolton Road). We will have a Yankee swap, so please bring a gift not to exceed $15 in cost, along with your favorite dish for our fellowship dinner. 

FINANCE COMMITTEE: This Monday at 7:00 p.m.

CHURCH BUSINESS MEETING: This Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. All church members are encouraged to attend. Included in the business is the long-overdue approval of this fiscal year's budget. 

SUPPERTIME FRIDAY will be this Friday at the Weisher's home in Princeton. Because of the Glory Manger production occurring here in the Sanctuary that night, it will start at 5:30 instead of 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite dish to share.
