PRAYER FOCUS
With health concerns we remember Mary Tambolleo, Marvin Douglas (Ileana’s husband), Cheryl Trott, Bill Merriman, Jackie Jones, Henry & John Livergood, Sharon Olejniczak, Carolyn Stump, Ottilie Stafford, Ed Fortmiller, Jim Norcliffe, Shawn Bisson, and their families. We remember the concerns in the foyer prayer book.

WELCOME, GUESTS Please join our church family for dinner in the Fellowship Hall after the 11:00 a.m. service today, hosted by the Sanctuary left side Sabbath School class.

TODAY at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary the South Lancaster Academy Concert Choir, Vocé, and the New England Youth Chamber Orchestra will present an hour of praise and peace in music. It will include works by Haydn and Brahms, as well as John Rutter’s Requiem. A free will offering will be taken.

* Suppertime Friday is this Friday at 6:00 p.m. Come to our home for supper and fellowship to begin the Sabbath and our 25th anniversary celebration of the College Church. Pastor “Mo” & Jane
* Next Sabbath we celebrate with Dave Osborne the beginnings of this house of worship. We will end Sabbath School a little early to gather in Machlan Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. for a ceremony and processional as was done 25 years ago. After the service in the Sanctuary we’ll fellowship over dinner. Plan to bring a large salad and breads ready to serve. The rest of the meal will be provided. There will be Evensong with William Ness at 7:00 p.m., followed by an ice cream social in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your memories ready to share—pictures, stories, etc.

Events for College Church 25th Anniversary Celebration, May 6, 2006

SPRING CLEANING Check our Lost and Found at the lower level coat rack by the Fellowship Hall to see if something is yours. After Sabbath, April 29, all will be removed!

PLEASE COME SUNDAY, April 30, for a work bee to ready everything for our 25th anniversary celebration—inside and outside. Come any time from 8:00 a.m.–noon. If you could, bring a flat of pansies to plant.

SUPPERTIME FRIDAY is May 5 at 6:00 p.m. Come to our home for supper and fellowship to begin the Sabbath and our 25th anniversary celebration of the College Church. Pastor “Mo” & Jane

“25 YEARS CLOSER—WE’RE ALMOST HOME” Sabbath, May 6, we celebrate with Dave Osborne the beginnings of this house of worship. In bereavement we remember Lethiel Parson and family, who are mourning the loss of an older brother several weeks ago.

WELCOME, GUESTS Please join our church family for our monthly “haystack” lunch in the Fellowship Hall after the 11:00 a.m. service today. Members: remember, the church provides the rice, beans and chips. Please bring toppings to add to the serving containers, as well as a dessert. The Sanctuary left side Sabbath School class will host next week’s dinner.

BRAHMS REQUIEM The Atlantic Union College Oratorio Society and Orchestra, with other esteemed artists, will perform Brahms’ Requiem in the “Blessed Are They That Mourn” concert tonight at 8:00 p.m. at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. This is a tribute to those who have served in the military. Tickets will be available at the door. See the bulletin board for details.

COMMUNITY CAFÉ College Church members are needed to provide and serve food at the café tomorrow from 4:00–6:30 pm. Contact Pastor Elizabeth Castle if interested.

WOMEN’S NIGHT OUT is this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at my home. Come enjoy a fun evening together. Bring your knitting or whatever if you wish. Bring a friend! Jane

Special "Blessed Are They That Mourn" Concert

Brahms Requiem “Blessed Are They That Mourn” Concert For Those Who Have Served

A moving evening of music with world-renowned musicians, featuring The Oratorio Society of Atlantic Union College, will fill historic Mechanics Hall in Worcester this Saturday night, April 15, starting at 8:00 p.m. Please join us for “Blessed Are They That Mourn,” a concert to honor those in the military.

Maestro Francisco de Araujo has choreographed this special tribute to them and will direct performances of the Brahms Requiem and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, Op. 80 for Piano, Orchestra, Chorus, and Six Vocal Soloists. The Atlantic Union College Oratorio Society is comprised of three choirs: Pro Arts International, The Fiat Lux Cantorum, and The King’s Men; and critically acclaimed performers soprano Faith Esham, American baritone Timothy Mix, pianist Andrew Luse, and the Boston-based QX String Quartet.

WELCOME, GUESTS! Bill & Pam Weisher invite you to their home today for Sabbath dinner after the 11:00 a.m. service. If you’d like to go please look for Pastor “Mo” & Jane in the foyer for directions or to follow them. They’ll be holding up the “Guest Dinner” sign. Next week will be AUC Alumni Sabbath and there will be no dinner here at the church. Invite someone to your home! (The monthly haystack dinner will be the following Sabbath, April 22.)

THE NEW ENGLAND YOUTH CHAMBER ENSEMBLE will present a vesper concert today at 6:30 p.m. under the direction of Connie Rittenhouse Drexler. Enjoy the special blessing and end the Sabbath together.

SUPER SUNDAY WORK BEE Join us tomorrow from 8:00 a.m. –1:30 p.m. to “spruce” up the grounds for Spring and AUC Alumni Weekend. Bring something to add to the “potluck” lunch and afterwards the church will “treat” you to a Rota-Spring ice cream cone.
