Prayer Focus & Key Announcements for Feb. 25, 2006

PRAYER FOCUS
With health concerns we remember Bonnie Condon (Lori Schmidt’s mother), Marge Howes, Sam Severin, Lillian Price, Lillian Peckham, Eileen Hutchins’ and Chris Kungie’s baby Jane, Henry Livergood, Sharon Olejniczak, Carolyn Stump, Ottilie Stafford, Ed Fortmiller, Jim Norcliffe, Shawn Bisson, and their families. We also think of the concerns in our prayer book in the foyer.

In bereavement we remember the family of Lillian Praeger, Bill Wood’s mother, who passed away Sabbath afternoon. Her memorial service will be Sunday, March 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the Village Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in her name be sent to the SLA scholarship fund.

WELCOME GUESTS! Please join us today after the 11:00 a.m. service for dinner in our fellowship hall downstairs, hosted by Bob & Nancy Broderick and Karl & Michelle Hernandez and their teams.

PIZZA & GAMES tonight at 6:00 in the Fellowship Hall. We hope you’ve let us know you’re coming so there’s pizza ordered for you! Otherwise you may bring your own. Remember to bring items you’d like to eat with pizza as your contribution. The Social Committee

Madeline Schmidt's Services

By now most of you have heard that Madeline Schmidt, Oscar's wife of 62 years, passed away Sabbath morning. This is to inform you of her services. The calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Miles funeral home in Sterling, and her memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. this Thursday here at the church, followed by the graveside service. 

Please continue to remember Oscar and the rest of Madeline's loved ones in this time of loss.

PRAISE GOD! We thank you for your prayers and support during our daughter-in-law’s long ordeal. We were in Chicago for her surgery on the 8th. The doctor was successful in removing her tumor and we hope and pray for a soon and full recovery. Seth & Shelly want to get back to a normal (what’s normal with a lively almost-one-year old!) life with little Luke. Pat & Jane

THE AUC MUSIC DEPARTMENT cordially invites you to our February concerts.
     Red Room Guest Artist Concert – Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., Thayer Red Room. Pianist Elizabeth Schumann will perform works by Corigliano, Chopin, Beethoven and Liszt. Ms. Schumann was a recipient of the prestigious Gilmore Young Artists Award in 2004 and was highlighted in a PBS TV documentary on the Gilmore Festival.
     Senior Recital – This Monday, 8:00 p.m., Thayer Red Room. Olga Bilan, soprano, will present her senior recital. The program includes works by Purcell, Mozart, Fauré, Rachmaninoff, Copland and Puccini.

BUSINESS MEETING College Church members, please come this Tuesday from 7:00–9:00 p.m. in the Youth Chapel for a church business meeting. Besides reviewing financial and membership issues, we will focus on two areas of ministry priority. Bryan Castle will dialogue with us on the future of our video ministry. We will also consider our ongoing commitment to the growth of Browning Elementary School and South Lancaster Academy.

PRAYER FOCUS With health concerns we remember Dennis Williams, Judy Brown, Lillian Peckham, Eileen Hutchins’ and Chris Kungie’s baby Jane, Henry Livergood, Dorothea Scoble, Shelley Morrison, Sharon Olejniczak, Carolyn Stump, Ottilie Stafford, Ed Fortmiller, Jim Norcliffe, Shawn Bisson, and their families. We also think of the concerns in our prayer book in the foyer.

In bereavement we remember the family of Jody Fouché, who died last Sabbath afternoon from his injuries in the car accident. His funeral was yesterday here at the church.
