Key Announcements for Nov. 11, 2006
Remember that it is assumed you are reading these announcements on Sabbath morning.
PRAYER FOCUS With health concerns we remember NAD President Don Schneider, Eric Bartlett, Beryl Christoph, Ray Dow, Sharon Olejniczak, Carolyn Stump, Ottilie Stafford, Jim Norcliffe, and their families. We also remember the concerns in the foyer prayer book.
WELCOME, GUESTS! Join us for dinner in the Fellowship Hall after the 11:00 a.m. service, hosted by the right side/Castle Sabbath School classes. Next week’s dinner will be haystacks. Thanks, Jane
COME WALK WITH US this afternoon. Enjoy time with your church family out in nature, discover the history of the mill on the Quinapoxet River, and get some exercise to boot. We will walk a relatively flat and smooth stone dust surface on a three mile section of the Mass Central Rail Trail going from West Boylston to Holden. Choose your own challenge by walking the entire six mile loop or turning around any time you want. Meet at the parking lot on Thomas Street at 2:00 p.m. Directions are on the Information Post. The Social Committee
HELP FOR HURTING HEARTS, weekly sessions for those who have experienced loss, start this Monday at 7:00 p.m. here at the church. Grief is not limited to loss by death. We are impacted by changes in our health, relationships, employment and physical surroundings. For more information, contact Elizabeth Castle.
THANKSGIVING BOXES Plan to bring food for our yearly Thanksgiving Harvest processional next Sabbath. Last year we provided 55 boxes to appreciative and needy families in our community. Perhaps you or your group might like to bring something extra special this year—55 5-pound bags of sugar or flour, 55 cans of corn, 55 packages of stuffing mix or 55 of something else! If you can afford to bring 55 of one item, call the church office so that we don’t have duplications. Also: we need names, addresses, phone numbers and number of people in the household of those who could use a box. Please supply that information to the church office by this Wednesday.
The Ministry of Nurture Committee and the Earliteen & Youth Sabbath School departments will assemble the boxes after the church service. We will need people to help deliver the boxes, too. Jane
A CALL TO PRAYER Please join us in the Chapel this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for focused prayer for our inactive members. If you have names of people you would like us to invite to Homecoming Sabbath, please submit them ASAP to the church office or to me at eacastle@thecollegechurch.com. Elizabeth Castle
Homecoming Sabbath is December 2, just three weeks away. Whom will you invite?
YOUTH NITE Meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for food & games.
STARTING NEXT SABBATH and continuing through January we will have one church service at 11:00 a.m.
